Songwriting Saturdays

So...our church had a "songwriting saturday" this past weekend. I have to admit, I was somewhat skeptical (i know, you all are thinking, "Melissa? Skeptical?"). I wasn't sure if it would be cheesy or if any of our talented people would show up or if feedback would be a process of tiptoeing around truth or if we'd all be drained of creative energy and unable to spark anything in such an unspontaneous manner. I was surprised. I really enjoyed myself and left inspired to write more. Someday I will learn to not be so quick to make assumptions or maybe to try things without letting possible random realities stop me.
